How Can I Help?

Why Give To Making It Better?

All of our programs are offered at no cost to the children. We are totally dependent on the gracious contributions of individuals, churches and corporations, as well as grant funds to provide all of our program needs. We realize how many incredible organizations and noble causes there are in the Houston area alone and hope that you will choose to support the children served by Making It Better . . . here are just a few reasons to choose MIB . . .

Our Children

Children of all ages, races and socio-economic backgrounds. Children with irresistible grins, vivid imaginations and incredible potential. All of them underserved and at-risk in numerous ways.

Our Volunteers

Busy would be an understatement. Just like everybody else, they make dinner, entertain clients, drive carpool, walk the dog, hit the gym, coach soccer, manage employees, take vacations and watch reality television. What sets them apart is that, despite their busy lives, they still make time to volunteer with our program, making a direct impact on the lives of at-risk children.

Our Staff

We have a staff of highly trained professionals who love children and are committed to doing whatever it takes to help them succeed. Their dedication is demonstrated each day by their willingness to go the "extra mile" while always being flexible and creative when dealing with challenges. Although our staff is paid, each of them has the heart and spirit of a volunteer!

Our Reputation

Since we began in 2006, Making It Better has built a solid reputation as a community partner who stretches its resources while offering programs that deliver results. Making It Better is an organization committed to excellence with a clear vision and passion for delivering outstanding results. MIB's dedicated staff, its relationship with HISD, and its ability to bring together different facets of the community - schools, businesses, churches and individuals - enable MIB to deliver high quality programs. MIB is making an impact by supplementing public schools' efforts to foster an environment in which children can flourish. Not only have we demonstrated the ability to deliver results, but we have the passion and leadership required to sustain programs that serve children and families in need.

Our Need

We are not a United Way agency nor do we receive large state or federal grants . . . we depend upon the generosity of local individuals, businesses and foundations to provide programs for at-risk children in our community.
