Parent Partnership Program
At Making It Better, we believe that parents & guardians play a pivotal role in helping children achieve their goals. In order to make any real, lasting change in the lives of our youth, their families must be engaged as partners in their education. Therefore, twice each year, Making It Better hosts Community Outreach Events in area apartment complexes, bringing the school to the parents, hoping to make a connection between home and school which will ease the way for future involvement. Parents are able to:
- Interact with school staff in an environment where they feel totally comfortable…their own "back yards"
- Participate in informational roundtables discussing topics such as: preventing gang involvement, healthy disciplinary techniques, dealing with daily stress, and how to help your child be a better student
